Mrs. LaNora Prince-Holliday has been a part of the Southpointe Christian School "family" for nine years. She is married to Mr. Gene Holliday, Jr., who is the athletic director at Southpointe. They are the parents of seven children, ranging from ages 21 to 30, including two sets of twins.
Mrs. Holliday grew up in the greater Los Angeles area. She received her elementary and secondary education in Compton, California. She moved to Sacramento as a young adult and attended California State University,Sacramento. Even though it was a struggle returning back to school after the birth of her twins, she was determined to do what was needed to be able to take care of her family. She credits God for helping her to endure. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from CSUS in 19 , after a college career that spanned 11 years. It was worth it, she says, because she showed her sons daughter that with God all things are possible. (Matt. 19:26).
“Being a part of the Southpointe staff has been a blessing over the past years. It has been challenging at times, but watching the students develop into who He intends them to be, is well worth the prayers and effort that goes into each day,” she notes. She has seen many students come and go, and each time they graduate or leave, she is saddened because she knows she will miss them. She believes God has blessed her and her husband in the ministry of teaching and mentoring His children and helping them to build on a great foundation that will last for the rest of their lives. She wants to help all her students to believe what Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me."
Mrs. Holliday currently teaches the fifth/sixth grade class.
