Southpointe’s science and computer teacher, Mr. Keith Connor, hasn’t always been a teacher. He says that before God called him to teach, he was a farmer near Clarksburg. As a farmer Mr. Connor raised wheat, alfalfa, and other field crops. These days, though, he is more interested in raising up godly young men and women. He received his B.S. in plant science from Fresno State University in 1986 and his teaching credential through San Francisco State University in 2005.
Mr. Connor, who teaches middle school science and weekly computer classes for first through eighth grades, is excited to be at Southpointe this year and working with a “great team.” He says SCS students are excited to learn,” and he is thrilled to be “sharing God’s wonders in science and technology with them.”
Mr. Connor, who plays several musical instruments, also teaches guitar and violin lessons at Southpointe.
Mr. Connor and Claire, his wife of 22 years, have two sons. Nathan is a sophomore at the University of California, Berkley, and Hamilton is a freshman at the Sacramento School of Engineering and Science.
Mr. Connor, who is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, enjoys traveling, having visited over eighteen different countries around the world. He has participated in mission trips to Papua New Guinea, Baja California, and most recently, Romania.
