Mrs. Dawn Carder grew up in Old Town, Maine, and attended college in Pennsylvania at Valley Forge Christian College. She received a BA in elementary education in 1995. While I was at college I read the book “The Cross and the Switchblade.” After readingThe Cross and the Switchblade, she became very interested in the Teen Challenge ministry. She decided to go to the Sacramento Valley Teen Challenge for one summer; however, God had plans for her to be there much longer. She accepted a position as a counselor and ministered there for four-and-a half years.
In 2000 Mrs. Carder began working at Little Friends Preschool. Two years later she accepted a position as a kindergarten teacher at Southpointe Christian School. She has taught kindergarten, first grade, and a combination kindergarten/first grade at SCS. Currently, she teaches the first grade class.
Mrs. Carder and her husband Steve are the parents of a daughter, Nicole, who attends Little Friends Preschool.
